In the second set, Dimitrov, 32, was unable to respond to Sinner’s faultless play and lost the match 3-1 after his backhand went in the net.

Dimitrov failed miserably to hit an overhead to give Sinner a 5-1 lead, and on championship point, he made no attempt to challenge Sinner’s backhand victory.

Sinner, who placed second in 2021 and 2023, prevailed in South Florida by winning 88% of his first serve points and crushing 15 winners.
